'Dangerous': Russia Summons French And British Envoys Over Remarks On Ukraine War

The Kremlin's spokesperson expressed grave concern over recent remarks by France’s president and Britain’s foreign secretary regarding the conflict in Ukraine, deeming them "perilous" and likely to exacerbate international tensions. French President Emmanuel Macron's suggestion of potential troop deployment to Ukraine and UK Foreign Secretary David Cameron's assertion of Ukraine's right to use British long-range weaponry against Russian targets were singled out as particularly concerning statements by Dmitry Peskov.

Describing Macron's comments as "a very important and very dangerous statement," Peskov warned against a potential escalation should France directly engage in the conflict. Similarly, he labeled Cameron's statement on Ukraine's use of British weapons as "another very dangerous statement," emphasizing the heightened risk to European security posed by such rhetoric.

The urgency for military aid delivery was underscored by Ukrainian officials, who highlighted the overwhelming advantage held by Russian forces in terms of troops, weaponry, and ammunition. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba urged expedited delivery of promised military support from the UK, emphasizing the critical need for armored vehicles, ammunition, and missiles.

Major-General Vadym Skibitsky of Ukraine’s military intelligence agency warned of Russia's plans for a major offensive, stressing the urgent requirement for weapons to counter the current Russian advantage. However, delays in Western military aid due to political disputes and manufacturing constraints have left Ukraine vulnerable to Russian advances, particularly along the eastern front line.

The strategic significance of defending Chasiv Yar, a key city in eastern Ukraine, was emphasized, as its capture would facilitate Russian attacks on other vital cities and supply routes.
